

Colon cancer is cancer that starts in the colon, which is the large intestine or the large bowel. Checking adults over 50 years old for colon cancer saves lives. When colon cancer is found early, there is a much better chance it can be successfully treated.

The Health Collaborative is currently collecting data from primary care practices in Greater Cincinnati on how well doctors did in helping their patients (ages 50-75) get screened for colon cancer in 2010.
The colon cancer screening results are expected to available in the Spring of 2012. The results will be posted on this website to help patients review and compare primary care practices in Greater Cincinnati.
